Jeff & Lorri
Jeff Jones was a 1970 graduate of Decatur Central High School. He continued his education at Indiana State University and Indiana College of Mortuary Science where he received his mortuary science degree in 1972. Jeff married Lorri Collins on February 12, 1972, and have four children, Tricia (Russ) Schmitt, Jeffrey (Allee Cortez) Jones, Olivia (Ryan) Wheatley and Joshua (Stephanie) Jones. They have been blessed with nine grandchildren.
Jeff is a founding owner of Jones Family Mortuary and presently, with his wife and children, operate the funeral home.
In 2007, the family purchased the Grace Church property, next to Jones Family Mortuary, and proceeded to renovate the building into a banquet center. The name chosen for the new endeavor was Jones Crossing Banquet and Event Center. In addition to ownership duties, Jeff also conducts tours and helps with events at the center.
Lorri Jones graduated from Plainfield high School in 1971 and continued her education at Indiana State University before marrying Jeff in 1972. Lorri brings an abundance of knowledge to Jones Crossing having expertise in decorating centerpiece table arrangements and overall coordination of wedding events. She also enjoys conducting tours of our facility to prospective brides and other clients.
Jeff and Lorri are very involved in the community. Jeff is past President of Mooresville Chamber of Commerce, Mooresville Kiwanis, and PTO. He is presently a member of the West Newton Masonic Lodge #707 and the Mooresville-Decatur Rotary Club that meets on Wednesday mornings at Jones Crossing. In 2014, Jeff was named Alumni of the Year by the Decatur Central High School Alumni Association. As a couple, Jeff and Lorri received the 2013 Mooresvillian of the Year award from the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce.
Jeff and Lorri’s biggest enjoyment comes from working with their children and grandchildren on their many endeavors.
